Originally from Dublin, Matt began his tattooing journey at the age of 15. Driven by a passion for art, he moved to Galway to study fine art painting, where he also began his formal tattoo apprenticeship. Over the years, Matt has developed a distinctive tattoo style that blends traditional tattoo influences with elements of Japanese tattoo art, illustrative designs, and brutal imagery.
At the core of Matt’s tattoo work is a foundation in traditional tattooing, with strong influence from iconic tattoo artists like Bert Grimm, whose bold and graphic approach shaped Matt’s vision. Today, his style continues to evolve, incorporating Japanese-inspired tattoos alongside more modern, illustrative tattoo designs. Matt describes his signature tattoo style as "Savage Beauty"—a striking fusion of structure, flow, chaos, and beauty that creates impactful, one-of-a-kind tattoos.

When he's not tattooing, Matt is equally passionate about painting, playing music, and touring internationally with his band, Tayne.
